Punjabi Movie industry also known as Pollywood is coming out of its shell and making its mark in Indian Film fraternity. Though the budgets are still small, Directors are equally talented and stars equally, even not more smarter and handsome, than Bollywood.
Punjabi films are no longer just about failed love and Jamindar era. It’s making movies on serious contemporary social issues, comedies, action, sci-fi and politics and everything else.
Some of the biggest actors in Punjabi films are Gippy Grewal, Sonam Bajwa, Diljit Dosanjh, and Jimmy Shergill, all of whom have huge fan followings in real life as well as on social media.
Today big Bollywood stars like priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Bollywood directors are interested in working in Punjabi movies with a local theme. Udta Punjab was a big hit earlier this year.
