The time for Samsung Galaxy S8 launch is finally here, ending months of anticipation for fans and starting a fresh chapter after the Galaxy Note 7 debacle for the company. The Galaxy S8 launch event live stream will start at 8:30pm, and we will be covering the event live. But most of the crucial details of the smartphone – and its bigger sibling, the Galaxy S8+ – have leaked online, giving us a fair idea of the key Samsung Galaxy S8 specifications, price, release date, and accessories, among other details.

Of course, Samsung has been building hype around its next flagship smartphones as well, promising a sleek design and improved camera, and confirming the Bixby AI-based virtual assistant ahead of the Galaxy S8 launch event. But the main event is when we find out the official Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ price, features, and other key information.

Tipsters have been working in overdrive mode too over the past few months, leaking nearly every important bit of information about the smartphones. From the leaks so far, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are said to have 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED pressure-sensitive ‘Infinity Display’ with QHD+ resolution and almost bezel-less design. The US variants are said to run on the new Snapdragon 835 processor, while the international model will get Samsung’s Exynos 8895 chipset. Both Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are expected to have 4GB of RAM, Android 7.0 Nougat operating system, 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, and IP68 certification for water- and dust-resistance. The bigger model will reportedly have a 3500mAh battery, while its smaller sibling will be powered by a 3000mAh battery. A 6GB RAM model is expected for markets like China and South Korea.

Rumours peg the Samsung Galaxy S8 price at EUR 799 (roughly Rs. 56,000), while the Galaxy S8+ is said to cost EUR 899 (approximately Rs. 63,300). A Continuum-like accessory called DeX is also expected at the Galaxy S8 launch event, priced at EUR 150 (Rs. 10,500).
