Sindhu assured of Silver in Badminton

P. V. Sindhu has become the first Indian woman ever to reach the final of an event, assuring herself and India a silver medal. Though she would certainly not be satisfied with anything less than a Gold now.

 

After Sakshi’s come back from behind performance to win Silver, Sindhu has brought some cheer to India Olympics squad that was medal-less till yesterday.

India’s P V Sindhu has defeated Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-19, 21-10 in the women’s singles semi-final of the competition at the Rio Olympics.

The Indian will meet top-ranked Carolina Marin of Spain in the gold medal round.

Marin beat China’s Li Xueri 21-14, 21-16 in the first semi-final.

Sindhu has assured India at least a silver.

The final is scheduled for Friday 1930 IST.
