Punjab awaits Captain’s return : Manish Tewari
Addressing a function organised on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in Ludhiana, Former Union minister Manish Tewari accused the SAD-BJP government of “destroying” Punjab in last ten years. Continuing he said that the Akalis had “destroyed and devastated” Punjab in last ten years in all respects. And the people were waiting for the return of Amarinder Singh as the Chief Minister.
“People want to get rid of them (the Akalis) as soon as they can. They see their hope only in Amarinder (Singh)”, said the Congress leader, asking people to support the party. Tewari said it was the question of ‘Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat’ and only Congress party under Singh can safeguard it.
Meanwhile, while asserting he said AAP did not have even a remote idea about Punjab. Besides which he added, the AAP had “destroyed” Delhi in two years the same way the Akalis had destroyed Punjab in last ten years. He also asked people to remain cautious against the “alluring” promises made by the Aam Aadmi Party.
Lastly, stating that the people have a clear choice but a very careful one to make. With the Akalis and AAP on one side, and Captain on the other.
The National Spokesman of the Congress party and former Union minister Manish Tewari today said the people of Punjab were impatiently waiting for Capt Amarinder Singh to return so that they could once again see progress and prosperity they experienced during his previous term between 2002 and 2007.
