Pak PM Sharif glorifies Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani at UN: Shocking

Pakistan raking up Kashmir was expected by India but what was shocking was Pakistan’s puppet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif calling a known and self-declared Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani as an innocent victim. India has strongly criticised Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly, in which he hailed dead terrorist Burhan Wani as a ‘young leader’ and a symbol of ‘Kashmiri intifada’

Addressing the media, junior foreign minister MJ Akbar said, “It is shocking that a leader of a free nation can glorify a self-declared terrorist (Burhan Wani). This is self-incrimination by Pakistan.”

Responding to Mr Sharif’s claim that Pakistan has “gone the extra mile and repeatedly offered dialogue”, Mr Akbar said, “We haven’t seen the first mile, where is the question of the extra mile?” Pakistan, he added, wants dialogue while “holding a gun in its hand”. “Talks and guns don’t go together.”

Minutes after Mr Sharif’s address at the United Nations General Assembly, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted:

Even as the country and its Prime Minister have drawn flak from India as well as the global community for the Uri terror attack which claimed lives of 18 soldiers, Nawaz Sharif went ahead to enunciate how Pakistan has been the ‘principal victim of terrorism’. “My country has been the principal victim of terrorism including that is supported, sponsored, financed from abroad,” Sharif said.
