OROP suicide : Capt to submit memo to governor

Chandigarh : Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Singh today led a 20 member team, they will submit a memorandum to Governor VP Singh Badnore who will seek Centre’s intervention for providing justice to the family of the ex- serviceman who recently committed suicide due to delay in implementation of OROP.

The governor assured Amarinder that the memorandum will soon be passed to the centre at the earliest and the reaction will soon be conveyed to him. Among the senior leaders of PPCC president were senior party leader Ambika Soni, paerty’s Punjab affairs in-charge Asha Kumari and former Union Minister Santosh Choudhary besides PPC senior vice- president Laal Singh and Leader of Opposition in state Assembly Charanjit Singh Channi.

In defence Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said Capt Amarinder Singh, who had done nothing for the welfare of ex- serviceman during his tenure as Chief Minister, is shedding crocodile tears to win them over in the run-up to the Assembly elections. He has made an industry of deceiving everyone, but it is especially galling that he has no qualms of even betraying the brave soldiers.
