Navjot Sidhu again tilting towards AAP; offered Deputy CM post

CHANDIGARH: it seems that Navjot Sidhu is ready to play more aggressively in his second innings of AAP negotiations. After weeks on hobnobbing with both Congress and AAP, Sidhu is again tilting towards the latter  as AAP reportedly offering him a Deputy CM Post if the party comes to power.

Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu had a meeting with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national organizing secretary Durgesh Pathak on Wednesday as the former seems to be trying to negotiate with both AAP and Congress ahead of the 2017 assembly polls. AAP leaders confirmed the meeting that lasted for about an hour.
Sidhu’s wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu has made it no secret that they are in talks with both AAP and Congress. Unlike the Congress, which has been ready to induct Sidhu and other members of his ‘Aawaz-e-Punjab’ front, the former BJP Rajya Sabha MP will have problems getting an AAP ticket for his wife due to the one-family, one-ticket policy of AAP. That is why the negotiations with the party assume even more significance.
Other members of Sidhu’s front – Bains brothers, Simarjit and Balwinder, are believed to be more inclined towards AAP than Congress, and they had at their own level too been trying to warm up to AAP even before Sidhu resigned from BJP.

AAP leaders, meanwhile, denied that there were any plans to offer the post of deputy CM to Sidhu.
