Narendra Singh Tomar is the new Punjab BJP election in-charge
Chandigarh: Punjab Elections are coming nearer. To better manage the party’s effort, BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday appointed Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar as the Punjab election in-charge and Captain Abhimanyu, a minister in Haryana government, as co-in-charge.
The party’s general secretary Saroj Pandey will be in-charge of Chandigarh’s local elections
Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla has welcomed the appointments saying that with their political experience, the party will be able to prepare for election much strategically.

The recent ‘surgical strikes’ by the Army across the border however may have come as a virtual shot in the arm for the BJP-SAD campaign. “Current issues always impact an election. Pakistan ko humne paani pila diya hai. What the people feel and want, the Modi government does. There is no one in India or Punjab who does not feel happy with this move,” Prabhat Jha, MP and Punjab BJP Incharge said earlier.
BJP is altering its messaging too and may start a campaign around ‘Mazboot BJP, Mazboot Bharat’ theme. BJP Punjab President and Hoshiarpur MP, Vijay Sampla in Chandigarh said the party’s morale is up in Punjab. “People asked where is PM’s 56 inch chest? Now all country-men are feeling a 56 inch chest. Never before has India replied to Pakistan in such fashion by going across LoC.
