MS Dhoni touches Rs 120 crore; Becomes biggest biopic on Box Office | Trailer

Indians have two passions – Cricket and Bollywood. Mixing the two has worked for the MS Dhoni: The Untold Story on the box office, making it one of the biggest hits of the year. The film, directed by Neeraj Pandey, narrates Dhoni’s journey from the lanes of Ranchi to his becoming the captain of the Indian cricket team.

Since its release on September 30, the film has set a new benchmark, earning about Rs 120 crore in the last 12 days, becoming the highest earning biopic in Indian cinema already. The movie has turned Sushant Singh Rajput into a star.

The movie’s entire focus is on Dhoni as the sole match-winner from the Indian side. His teammates, which include Indian cricketing greats (Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and others), are shown in flashes, if at all. In fact, there’s no Virat Kohli even though the two players have been close in the last few years. Is this because Virat’s scnese were cut due to Indo-Pak border tension as it was played by a Pakistani actor.

But all that did not matter, as the movie is breaking box office records. Fans of Crickets and Dhoni are lapping the movie and watching it 2-3-4 even 10 times.
