Man tries to commit ‘suicide’ outside Badal’s home

High drama was witnessed today outside the Punjab Chief Minister’s residence when a man claimed that he had taken poison.

Sources said Ajaib Singh (48), a resident of Banur, who claimed to be a leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, arrived outside Parkash Singh Badal’s residence and alleged that the Punjab Police had been harassing him by registering a false case against him.

The man claimed that he had taken poison after which the Police were informed. DSP Krishan Kumar said the man was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, from where he was referred to the PGI.

The police said it was yet to be confirmed what substance was taken by the man.
