Ludhiana police arrested Punjab youth congress secretary Parvinder Lapran who was among the six congressmen men who had clashes with youth Akali Dal activists over “Chitta” Ravana. Parvinder is sent for 14 days judicial custody.

Parvinder is the son of district party leader Gurdev Singh Lapran. He was arrested from his house in Ludhiana early morning and was charged against attempt to murder and kidnapping.

Police is carrying out raids to arrest other party men like Gurpreet Gogi, president of Ludhiana congress unit, Guriqbal Singh Honey, Narender Sharma. Police booked 6 men of Youth Congress with attempt to murder and Kidnapping. But not so strict charges are being charged against YAD leader which includes Tarsem Singh Bhinder, Baljinder Khalsa and Sukhdev Singh.

Opposing the Lapran arrest state Congress leadership has decide to go against the government and Ludhiana police. Ludhiana member of parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu along with other Congress leader barged into Police Commissioner’s office in afternoon and pasted the sticker “ Proud to be Akali”. Bittu said they would protest against Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh on Thursday.

Bittu said that situation is turning upside down the innocent ones are behind the bars, and culprits are roaming free in the state. This is all because SAD is supporting and police is working in their favor. It was YAD members who came to kill us not we were culprit.
