Jang-e-Azadi memorial’s first phase opens tomorrow
Amritsar : The SAD-BJP government will open the first phase of Jang-e-Azadi memorial on Sunday. This memorial is located in Kartarpur on Jalandhar- Amritsar highway.
This project is worth Rs 200 crore and covers about 25 acres area. It will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal along with his Cabinet Ministers.Education Minister took a round of the venue for assuring that everything is on place, even most of the models and statues were still being installed. BJP’s state election in-charge Narendra Tomar and Union Minister of state and state party chief Vijay Sampla are also likely to attend the event.
The memorial features foliage- shaped high- rise, inter-connected buildings. The entrance to the building shows the scene from the freedom struggle, including Gadar movement, Kuka movement, Pagri Sambhal Jata movement, Jalliahwala Bagh Massacre, Baba Kirti Kisan movement and Naujawan Bharat Movement.
Portraits of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru,Sukhdev, Vir Sawakar, Udham Singh, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Madan Lal Dhingra, Lala Hardyal Singh,Sohan Singh Bhakna, Lala Lajpat Rai etc. have been installed.
Project CEO Vinay Bublani said “Everything has come exactly the concept was finalised by Jang-e-Azadi team after several rounds of meetings and visits to historical places and museums”
The foundation stone was laid by Chief MINISTER on October 19, 2014.
