India preparing to attack under Cold Start : Pakistan media

ISLAMABAD: India has prepared itself to wage an attack against Pakistan under the Cold Start doctrine as tensions soared between the nuclear-armed adversaries after the Pathankot and Uri terror attacks, according to Pakistan media quoting unnamed army sources on Wednesday.

According to Geo.TV “India has prepared itself to attack specific targets for which it completed the ‘first’ stage of its Cold Start war doctrine. Indian jets used in wars and for surgical strikes have reached forward bases under the first stage and the enemy forces are only ‘two’ stages away from mounting an offensive.”

India has totally rejected any such military development saying Pakistan is hyping up the nuclear threat as it’s rattled by our diplomatic efforts to isolate Pakistan.

However, in a telephonic conversation held a few hours ago, the Pakistani civil-military leadership expressed ‘satisfaction’ over Pakistan’s capability to respond to any attack.

“Pakistan has also readied itself to fully react to any aggression. It has been made clear that if an attack takes place, it would be responded “befittingly’,” According to Pakistani Sources.

According the Dawn, the leading newspaper in Pakistan,”Measures are being taken with regard to Pakistan’s counter-strategy to defend itself and if an attack is launched from across the border then it would be fully thwarted. The suspension of flight operations in country’s north and sealing of various passages also came as part of the same strategy.”

“Pakistan’s nuclear program cannot be restricted,” said Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, today in a New York press conference, Pakistani media reported.

The tensions between the two countries have soared recently after the repeated Pakistan sponsored terror-attacks in India. India has found strong evidence that the Uri attack was a Pakistan-sponsored one. Leaders around the world, including those of the US, France and the UK, among others, condemned the attack and vigorously called for an end to State-supported terror anywhere in the world.
