It can’t be simpler – real lemon juice (Nimbu) and a spoon of real honey (Sahed) in a glass of lukewarm water. But you will be amazed as soon as you start taking just one glass of this miracle drink every morning. I have been on honey lemon water for the last eight months and can vouch for its benefits.

There’s no secret to health benefits of honey and lemon. Even my grandfather’s great grandmother will agree. Raw honey is soothing for sore throats, coughs and colds. It has antibacterial properties and its simple sugars are natural energy-booster! Lemons are  balls full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that you need to fight pollution, harmful bacteria and viruses ever-present around you.

Add juice of half a fresh lemon and a teaspoon of raw honey (ensure that it’s pure and, preferably, organic) in a glass of warm water. That’s it.

 

Sip it slowly as you read your newspaper or check your Facebook account in the morning. For better results, drink it on an empty stomach.

Experiment with the amount of honey or lemon juice to suite your taste.

 

Let me list a few of the positive changes I noticed in myself since January 2016 when I daily started enjoying this miracle drink.

 

1:  No cold or Flu

I am generally the first one to get flu every season twice a year. Delhi pollution, smog and muddy rain do not help me at all. I have tried Vitamin C tablets and various syrups but of no avail. However, this time I could breeze through rainy season with my nose high & dry.

2: Reduced coffee consumption: 

Being a North-South Indian, I needed two filter coffees in the morning before I could get into the second gear. And then I have my sweetened milky tea cups for the rest of the day. I still have my drinks but fewer cups are needed for me to live through the day.

3: Improves digestion and weight control

 

Honey, lemon and water are all good for digestion. Lemon works on your liver while honey is antibacterial which protects you from infections. And  you can’t go wrong with a glass of warm water in the morning.

4: Improved skin

Lemon is good for skin with its blood cleansing properties while honey has restorative, collagen boosting effect on your skin. No wonder, almost all big brands of skin lotions and soaps has honey and lemon included. But why depend on external application, when you can have the real honey and lemon.
