Continued rains expected in Chandigarh and large parts of Punjab
Rains on Monday lashed various places in Punjab and Haryana, bringing down the mercury level several notches below normal. Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 30.7 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, the MeT Department said in Chandigarh. The city received 1.9 mm of rainfall.
In Punjab, the maximum temperature at Amritsar settled at 31.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal. Ludhiana and Patiala, which received 3 mm each of rains, registered respective maximum temperatures of 30.4 and 29.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
In Haryana too, many districts had widespread rains. Ambala and Karnal received rainfall of 1 mm and 5 mm.
