Congress has no opponents in Punjab | Amarinder Singh to Media

Amarinder Singh Congress Winning

Amarinder Singh exudes the same level of confidence of Congress winning in Punjab, he showed during 2012, when he even started shortlisting his would be cabinet minister before the results were out. He lost the election however, and SAD-BJP led by Badals came back to power despite huge anti-incumbency wave.

At the first day of his ‘Kisan Yatra’ President of Punjab Congress Captain Amarinder Singh he was pretty sure about the result.

While discrediting the ruling SAD-BJP alliance and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as opponents, he thrashed Navjot Singh Sidhu for his flip-flop attitude.

The former Army officer says what we call surgical strikes now, in his days with the Army, they used to call them ‘raids’. He also wants Priyanka Gandhi to come and campaign for the party in Punjab.

When asked who is Congress’s main opponent in Punjab, he said, “Nobody is our opponent. We are well ahead. Akali-BJP are clear from the scene and Aam Aadmi party (AAP) is fast disappearing from the scene. So there is nothing we are worried about. We are going ahead. We have got tremendous support from all sections of the society and I am not worried at all about any of these parties.”

He also expects Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka, all three to come and campaign for Congress and him in Punjab.
