Awaaz-e-Punjab open to alliance: Sidhu softens

Former Bharatiya Janta Party leader, Navjot Singh Sidhu, who formally exited the BJP on September 16, while addressing a press conference in Chandigarh announced that the sole purpose of Awaaz-e-Punjab is the betterment of Punjab. For which, he is welcoming any alliance vowing to reinforce positive forces in the state.
Sidhu had recently formed the political front Awaaz-e-Punjab along with former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh and independent MLAs Simarjit Bains and Balwinder Bains.
Not wanting to be a spoilsport he has decided to facilitate the Punjab elections due next year.
Sidhu in the conference, stated, “The forum welcomes any alliance for the betterment of Punjab and will not be a political party. May Punjab, Punjabiat and every Punjabi win. The launch of the ‘Aawaz-e-Punjab’ forum has had a rousing response in Punjab. Some speculative, some putting two and two together, but the majority towards fighting elections is Punjab.”
Sidhu said that dividing the anti incumbency vote bank, indirectly benefiting the “corroborative and collusive Badal-Amrinder nexus  has plundered Punjab in the last 15 years, all in all defeating the purpose of bringing a change for the better in Punjab.
