Another AAP exit: Kumar Vishwas may join BJP; contest from Sahibabad, UP | AAP refutes
NEW DELHI: In a major jolt to Aam Aadmi Party, its leader and one time confidante of Arvind kejriwal, Kumar Vishwas is reportedly in talks with BJP to join the party and a call will be taken in a day or two after a consensus is reached between him and the saffron party on where he would be fielded from in the ensuing Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Talks with Vishwas are in an advanced stage, BJP sources said, adding that there will not be much delay in taking a decision as the notification process for UP polls have already begun.
According to sources Vishvas talked to BJP regarding the UP elections and may fight it from Sahibabad Constituency.
Both the parties are having a discussion regarding this and within a day or two official announcement can be made.
Kumar Vishwas is likely to meet BJP President Amit Shah in Lucknow before a formal announcement is made regarding his joining.
Earlier, Vishwas contested election on AAP ticket from Amethi Constituency against Smriti Irani and Rahul Gandhi and now he is keen to contest election from Sahibabad Constituency in Ghaziabad district.
In the 2012 assembly elections, Amarpal Sharma won from Sahibabad on BSP ticket. He has now joined the Congress.
Sources claim that, Kumar Vishwas is now being sidelined by AAP though last year in December he visited Goa and addressed rallies for AAP.
However, his name disappeared from the list of star campaigners for AAP in Punjab. The list included names of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, MLA Satyender Jain and MP Bhagwant Mann. The list was released in the first week of January and Vishwas was told to camapaign for AAP in Goa elections.
