AAP spokeman Sukhpal Singh Khaira accuses Kejriwal of not trusting state leaders

AAP infighting

JALANDHAR: In fresh signals on discontent within AAP Punjab over state convenor Sucha Singh Chhottepur’s removal from the post and complete control of leaders from Delhi in Punjab, AAP Punjab spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira has said that it is an unfortunate development and if any insider was behind the sting on him then it was very condemnable.
It is for the first time that a senior leader of AAP Punjab has come out open on the Chhottepur episode. “We are hearing rumours that somebody from the party is involved behind the sting and if it is true then it is condemnable,” he held.

He has also said that central leadership of AAP should have trust in Punjab leaders and they should be involved more in the decision making and working of the party in the state. Khaira has also advocated review of some tickets where volunteers had strong objections.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday Khaira held that Chhottepur appeared to have been victim of circumstances as he could not convey the prevailing situation in Punjab to the central leadership.

“Advocate H S Phoolka, Kanwar Sandhu and I tried to resolve the issue till last minute and approached Chhottepur not to go to press but he had already decided,” he said. “He told that he was much disturbed on the allegations being levelled against him and he could not even face his family and relatives and decided to go to the media,” Kahira revealed.
