AAP blasted by a loud Awaaz-e-Punjab
#JALANDHAR: At a time when Punjab is facing a political crisis situation and AAP is in a highly uncertain state, Former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, suspended Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Pargat Singh and Ludhiana based independent legislator brothers Balwinder Singh Bains and Simarjit Singh Bains have announced the formation of a new front, Awaz-e-Punjab.
AAP is jittery and prominent party leaders called the new front leaders, said the sources that are close to the new party leaders and those close to AAP as well. While the party nearly burnt bridges with Sidhu, its leaders were still chasing Pargat to negotiate, sources said.
Bains brothers held negotiations with AAP at different times and had openly indicated that they would join the party but this imminent joining also did not happen.
Sidhu’s wife, Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, BJP MLA from Amritsar (East), underlined the issue of outsiders’ control on AAP Punjab. Party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira also said Punjab leaders should be trusted and involved in the decision making process. “The fourth front provides a forum to AAP leaders who are suffocated under the stifling control of Delhi-based leaders on state affairs and dissenting voices are getting stronger,” said a source in AAP.
“Moreover, the fourth front floated on Friday indicates that it has issues similar to those being raised by AAP and mainly targets sections which are the support base of AAP. Both Sidhu and Pargat enjoy a clean reputation. They are likely to position their front as an alternative to SAD-BJP, Congress and even AAP ,” said a source close to the new front.
