12 bombs found in Amritsar near Border
Tension gripped the area after 12 bombs were found near railways track that lead to Pakistan near a residential area of Amritsar on Saturday. Police, however, said the bombs were not live when they found them.
The bombs were found in a sack by a person who was clearing weed from the spot. Police removed the bombs and registered a case against unidentified person. A police officer said that these bombs were old and rusted and could belong to the Indian Army.
Suspecting “suspicion movement”, the Border Security Force opened fire near the India-Pakistan border fencing on Friday night. A search operation on the following morning, however, found nothing. “These are small incidents. We fire whenever we find notice something suspicious. Firing was limited to Indian territory,” said an official of BSF.
